LG Outs Its Next Phablet, The Slender LG Stylus 2

One very new feature in the LG Stylus 2 is the addition of a nano-coated tip on the stylus, which promises much better accuracy than the traditional rubber coated tip. They have a new series of phones altogether, the X Series. It will also allow you to write on the screen in a calligraphic style - screw a three day battery life, THAT'S the feature we've all been waiting for. There is, for instance, Pen Pop, a menu that makes it easier for the user to access notes and scanner features when the stylus is removed, Pen Keeper, a feature that is created to prevent users from forgetting to insert the stylus back after use, and Calligraphy Pen, a font that mimics the use of a fountain pen.

For long-lasting usage, the LG Stylus 2 mobile phone has 3,000 mAh battery, which will power the 13-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

On Tuesday, however, the company has confirmed that it will showcase the Stylus 2 at the event, which means that LG G5 will share the stage with other smarthphones as well.

There's no specific confirmation of pricing yet but LG says the price-tag will be "of a mid-tier phone" - adding that it's aiming the handset firmly at the "mass-tier segment" (aka where there's still some growth to be found in smartphones).

The LG X Cam will be available in Silver, White, Gold and Pink Gold.

Under the hood of the Android 6.0 device there's a 1.2GHz Quad-Core chip, 1.5GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage (user expandable as noted above), so in classic phablet style it's not going to be treading on the toes of the top of the range smartphone flagships.

LG's MWC 2016 line-up will be huge. LG also didn't show off any images of the rear of the X cam smartphone - amusing that. This has also 16GB of storage, with 2,300mAh battery.

The mobile payment system, which aims to give rivals like Google's Android Pay, Apple's Apple Pay and Samsung's Samsung Pay a run for their money, is now scheduled to launch in the second quarter of this year, a company spokesperson told the Korea Times.
