On July 11, 2009, Gatti was found dead in a hotel in Ipojuca, Pernambuco, Brazil. Gatti and his wife, Amanda Rodrigues, were on a second honeymoon with their 1 year-old son.

Arturo Gatti was a Canadian professional boxer. Gatti retired with a record of 40 wins and 9 losses, with 31 wins by knockout. On September 24, 2008 reports had surfaced that Gatti was considering a comeback against Montreal welterweight Antonin Decarie (19–0), the Canadian and North American Boxing Organization champion.

The 2009 Major League Baseball Home Run Derby is the 25th annual home run hitting contest since the first one in 1985, and is taking place on Monday, July 13, 2009 at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Missouri, the host facility for the 2009 MLB All-Star Game.

The Home Run Derby is an event played prior to the Major League Baseball All-Star Game. It is a contest among the top home run hitters in Major League Baseball to determine who can hit the most home runs.

The Brewers’ Prince Fielder has pipped the Rangers’ Nelson Cruz to post by 6-5 in the championship round to win the 2009 Home Run Derby.

Before the Championship round, Prince Fielder was ahead with 17 homers while Nelson Cruz had 16 Homers. In the championship round again, Prince Fielder proved his superiority by scoring 6 Homers while Nelson Cruz lagged with 5 Homers.

Prince Semien Fielder is a Major League Baseball player who plays first base for the Milwaukee Brewers. Currently listed at 5′ 11" and 268 pounds, he was selected by the Brewers in the first round of the 2002 Major League Baseball Draft out of Eau Gallie High School in Melbourne, Florida.

He is the son of former Toronto Blue Jays and Detroit Tigers first baseman Cecil Fielder. Prince and Cecil are the only father-son combination in MLB history to each reach the exclusive 50 home run plateau. Fielder also holds the Brewers’ team record for home runs in a season, as well as the MLB record for youngest player to reach the 50 home run mark.

Prince Fielder’s wife Chanel gets the credit of turning the Prince Fielder into a complete vegetarian. Prior to the beginning of the 2008 season Fielder had become a vegetarian, removing meat and fish from his diet.
