Synopsis – The plot is mainly about the present lives of the four female friends Carrie Bradshaw (Parker), Samantha Jones (Kim), Charlotte York Goldenblatt (Kristin) and Miranda Hobbes (Nixon). The movie starts with a quick flashback to show how the four friends met two years back.
It is the current year now and the four friends have more stressful lives than before. All except Samantha are married. Samantha is 52 now and still coping with her sexual desires and fighting with her menopause at the same time.
Samantha gets an opportunity to fly to Arab to devise a PR campaign for a sheik. She even arranges for an all-expenses-paid luxury vacation to Abu Dhabi for her friends. It is there in the Middle East where the four end up having a culture clash with the locals in terms of style and attitudes with the Muslim society. The clash leads to a comic twist amid the romantically confused lives of the four ladies!
Review – SATC2 has failed to make a strong impression and has got only 12% positive reviews. It is the basic plot which doesn’t make an impact on the viewers. As far as the glamour and popularity of SATC was concerned, it was absolutely nowhere to be found.
There was almost no sex and very little city in the much anticipated movie of 2010. The plot was mindless and lacked the basic knitting which a big banner movie like this would have required.
Moreover a stretch of almost 2.5 hours was just too much for the audience to bear!
There was nothing much the actors like Parker and Catrall could do. The outfits were outrageous, the high heels were boring instead of glamorous and the fake orgasms were absolutely cheesy.
Conclusion – Expectations were high for SATC2 and sadly it failed miserably. A strict no-no for the men, and a word of caution for women!
