The 29 year old, multiple Grammy award winning singer has tied the knot with her music producer boyfriend, Swizz Beatz in a private ceremony on Saturday in France. A representative for Keys confirmed the wedding ceremony the following day.
The seasoned singer was spotted wearing a white Vera Wang gown and headband while Beatz was dressed in a white Tom Ford tuxedo and bow tie for the ceremony. The celebrity guests to witness the occasion included U2 rocker Bono and Queen Latifah.
This is Alicia’s first wedding but Beatz’s second. Beatz has just finalised his divorce from his first wife of six years, who co-incidentally is also a singer, Mashonda Tifrere. Beatz has two children with her.
The ‘Fallin’ star had been dating music producer Kassem Dean better known as Swizz Beatz since 2008. The couple had announced their engagement this May and had plans to get married at the end of 2010. But looks like Alicia’s pregnancy caused the couple to pre-pone their plans. The couple’s baby is due in November.
Alicia it seems has a very soft corner for children. Majority of her philanthropy acts are aimed towards the welfare of children. She is the co-founder and Global Ambassador of Keep a Child Alive, a non-profit organization that provides medicine to families with HIV and AIDS in Africa. She has made several visits to African countries like Uganda and Kenya to promote care for children affected by AIDS and has also been donating to another non-profit organization that aids children and teenagers with scholarships
Now with her baby on the way and a just married tag attached to her, we are sure the singer is weaving some more beautiful award winning music along with her producer hubby.
