Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie took the British newspaper News of the World to the High Court in London and have been awarded an undisclosed sum in damages. The British news paper published this news in January claiming the couples were planning to end their relationship. The couple, who were recently seen on the red carpet in LA for the premiere of Jolie’s new film Salt, was not present for Thursday’s hearing.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie lawyer said that, "When the News of the World failed to publicly retract the allegations and apologize for them — thereby leaving their readers in the dark as to the true position — the couple felt they had no alternative than to sue. Today’s victory marks the end of the litigation brought by Brad and Angelina."
