Lindsay Lohan never seriously undertook her weekly alcohol education classes imposed on her by court, for two 2007 drunken driving arrests and often found excuses to violate court orders .
However now when she has been sentenced to 90 days imprisonment and another 90 days in a locked-down drug rehabilitation facility after the judge held her guilty for violating court orders again and again, the ‘party girl’ suddenly has started proving that she’s already turning into a new leaf . The actress, who has to begin her jail sentence from July 20th, has now joined a rehab facility in order to try and impress the judge and minimize her jail term and also extend the date on which she is to begin serving her sentence.
Since Lohans’s sentence has been announced, she doing all she can to get her sentenced reduced. She first called her sentence a violation of human rights, then hired a new lawyer to represent her and now has on her own checked into rehab at Pickford Lofts.
This rehab facility is apparently one which was started by Lohan’s new lawyer, Robert Shapiro. Shapiro opened this facility after the death of his own sun due to drugs and alcohol overdose in 2005. Robert Shapiro too is no ordinary lawyer; he was a member of the team that represented O J Simpson, the footballer and actor who was under trial for double murder in 1995 , this trial also called the ‘Trial of the Century’ ended in Simpson’s favour.
Guess getting LiLo to join the rehab is part of Shapiro’s game plan to get his client’s sentence waived off. Let’s wait and see how much the judge is impressed though.
