Although an age limit has been provided by many social networking sites, hardly anyone follows the rule. Inspite of all the advantages which these websites provide, still many have criticized them and the latest to join the critics are the Hollywood superstars.

The Hannah Montana star, Miley Cyrus has spoken against social media sites like Facebook when it was reported that a 13-year-old girl was groomed and kidnapped by a 48-year-old man in California. The man is said to have used such websites in order to snatch her. She was quoted as saying, “I’m urging kids – don’t go on the internet. It’s not fun – it’s dangerous”. Another Hollywood superstar who finds support with Cyrus is George Clooney. The 49-year-old is furious after fans set up an account on the website in his name.He commented that he has much better things to do than use the networking portal. He also added,” I’d rather have a prostate exam live on TV given by a guy with very cold hands than have a Facebook page”.

However, many celebrities who seem to benefitting from such websites are pop stars Lady Gaga and Britney Spears who have the largest followers in Facebook and Twitter respectively. We really wonder if they would speak out against such websites. Well whatever our superstars say, one thing is always sure
