Predators review: Finally we have a sequel worthy of the original!

Arnold Schwarzenegger is mostly remembered for two of his career defining portrayals, one of course is the killing machine from the future “Terminator” and the other is his super commando avatar in the cult classic “Predator”. Many sequels of the latter followed but failed to provide the same dose of high octane action that’s associated with the original. But this latest rendition of the reboot of the franchise is proving that may be there is still some juice left in the series.

Adrien Brody leads the stellar ensemble cast of Laurence Fishburne, Alice Braga, Oleg Taktarov, Danny Trejo, Louis Ozawa Changchien and Walton Goggins. This time they are literally stranded on another planet, which actually serves as a game preserve for the alien race of Predators. And you guessed it right, our stars are the game here and they are being hunted down one by one. The first third of the film is a real drag. But it picks up, once the clutter (that is the supporting cast) is thinned out. The action is fierce, well-choreographed, and bloody. Though Adrien looks a bit out of place at times, after all he is a method actor; he delivers his performance with force. This is a worthy follow-up and should not be missed from your list of movies to watch out for this summer!
