Security officers of Forest Lawn, the place where the ‘King of Pop’, Michael Jackson is buried must be humming lyrics from his song ‘Bad’ ….”you’re doin’ wrong, gonna lock you up before too long.” and of course they have valid reason for singing so, MJ’s tomb has apparently been vandalized by some fans who have scribbled across messages in permanent ink on its walls.
Fame follows celebrities in life and in death and hence Mj’s fans have been visiting his tomb in huge numbers in order to connect to him even after his death. But some of them aren’t just paying their respects to him there, they are scribbling messages for him like ‘miss you sweet angel’ and ‘keep the dream alive’.
Security officers are now on a watch out for visitors causing such damage. ‘Activity such as this is a prime example why we are evaluating the level of access to the various entrances of the Great Mausoleum,’ a representative at Forest Lawn stated. He even added someone caught vandalizing the cemetery would be banned for life.
While some Bad fans have gone ahead and vandalised his tomb, some good smartains and MJ fans have on the other hand offered to clean up the mess. Several members of the official Michael Jackson fans of southern California group, who visit the site monthly, have offered to clean up the cemetery that has been defaced in tributes. These fans fear that because of the mis-doings of few fans, all of them would be banned completely from visiting their pop icons tomb.
Last year after the death of the pop star security officers at Forest Lawn had hoped that Jackson be buried outside their jurisdiction, else they would be left protecting his grave for months, but little did they know that in case of MJ, they would still be beefing up security of his grave more than a year after his death. While the pop star has kept several people on their toes with his music he’s keeping Forest lawn on their toes even with his silence.
