The melodious voice might be eluding her for a while but that did not hinder the teen diva from enthralling her fans at Lopez Tonight on Monday in a curiously odd yet entertaining interview. A DynaVox rattled in its automated cadence for the beauty as she sat there prettily smiling.
"I’m sorry. I’m so upset," the slow, automated speech machine said in a monotone, "But at least it’s funny. Right?" The teen sensation was fine last week when she turned 18 and had even taken time out for Ramona and Beezus, her latest flick that opened last week and seems to "It was amazing to hear everyone laugh and cry."
George Lopez then helped the actress/singer tell a story about performing with her very close friend and teen heartthrob Justin Bieber. This is what she said, and I quote verbatim: "I love him. I like to say his name on stage because if I’m performing badly, I say his name and the audience will cheer," she joked before adding that at one show Justin had requested her to do away with her heels to make him look taller but she’s not and to quote, "No, I’m not going to take off my heels. You’re short, embrace it. He’s getting taller, though."
On a personal note I believe Hollywood can do with more of the likes of Selena as the DynaVox machine Gomez used during the interview was donated in the actress’ name to the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.
Coming back to the all-famous three words; is it safe to assume (for now) that Gomez isn’t in love with Bieber? Or did she really choose to make that announcement via DynaVox?
The wise have said: patience is a virtue, so behold it and while you do so don’t forget to pray for her strained vocal cords.
