Disappointing his fans, the legendary Sachin Tendulkar gave Asia Cup a miss as he wanted to let his family enjoy his company. A recent tweet from SRT “no news frm me for a while as i m away on holiday with my kids.wont get to holiday with them for a year after this.” However, holidaying SRT would give his fans a chance to have a glance of him at the Wimbeldon’s green lawns on 26th June 2010.
SRT has been invited to the Royal Box by the The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club to witness the games on the first Saturday of the Wimbledon fortnight aka Sporting Saturday. The invitations are sent to guests from the field of sports for the Sporting Saturday.
Commonly seen in his ten numbered jersey SRT on this occasion would be donning suit/jacket and tie to witness the games at the wimbeldon. The invitation from the “Land of Three Lions” concurs with the respect offered to SRT by Gordan Brown (former Prime Minister of England) during his visit to India when Brown aired his opinion about recommending Sachin Tendulkar for knighthood. Fans are elated at this piece of information and believe days are close when the world would be soon looking at the first Indian sports knight.
