Suzuki released information and teaser photos for their third generation Swift Hatchback car recently. The car might be available in 3 and 5 door variants. The car might soon be out in the UK market while any speculations on its availability in the US market.
The car will be available with a new 1.2 L engine in place of the current 1.3L four pot motor. The new engine will pump out 95BHP and has a dual VVT system. The car features a styling layout which is quite similar to the current model albeit being wider, longer and more spacious. However, due to the use of high strength light weight steel and other materials in the construction, the car is announced to be lighter and can return a better fuel economy figure as stated by the company.
The manufacturer is counting on its tie up with Volkswagen in its foray at different markets and has also recently announced as to its intention to bring this hatch to the US, but some inside sources suggest otherwise. However, in a time where small cars are more likely to take over one automotive market after another, particularly in the urban environments, the Swift should be definitely on the cards for Suzuki’s American portfolio.
