Dodge Viper ACR-X sold out! New Batch to begin?

A power monster that has been feared and actually left out of many a racing series has risen to begin its own special racing series and just like those oh-so-awesome good times, its run had to end as soon as it began. No tragic news here for Chrysler though it might be one for the buying enthusiast as I’m talking about the Dodge Viper ACR-X that was introduced a few months ago and which has now officially been sold out. Given the limited numbers on the make category, this was expected also given its unlimited power and punch on tap.

The car features an 8.4L V10 pumping out 640 BHP. It’s built utilising the expertise of the engineers at SRT and combines the track abilities of the Road-legal bonkers ACR (American Club Racer) and the safety equipment and the even more bonkers track nature of the Viper Competition Coupe. It has factory headers and a low restriction exhaust system, so loud booms are expected every time a cog is shifted up or down with the intervals filled by deep thrummy V10 trumpet galore. The car comes fitted with suspension mods, aero mods, tranny mods et al (What else can one expect, eh?) for better grip and on-road (err, make that track) stability and high speed cornering.

It also has a factory fitted roll cage, fuel cell and racing seat to keep one safe on the track. Dodge CEO Ralph Gilles is known to be thanking the SRT Team and the Viper Nation for supporting the project through out during its announcement a few months ago. Now, he is known to have officially quoted that the first slot of ACR-Xs have all been spoken for and the Viper in all its variants is being shipped to the dealers. Hence, a terrible news for the rich track enthusiast who hasn’t yet signed that cheque. Worries can be safely left out as Gilles has suggested that a new batch of ACR-Xs might be considered given the heavy demand.
