iPhone 4 launched. Where does it take Apple?

It was in news much before Monday- the day it was launched. An Apple engineer had forgot a prototype in a bar and a technology blog “Gizmodo” had published the details of the hardware.

But still as eager eyes looked on, Apple CEO Steve Jobs introduced a latest version of iPhone- iPhone4. “This is our new baby”, he said before going on to present its several features.

The iPhone 4 comes with a better display, a 5 MP Camera, a front camera for video chats besides an option for editing High Definition videos. Where does this launch take Apple in the time to come?

iPhone 4 should help Apple establish a lead in the area of smartphones, especially considering the fact that phones running on Google’s Android software had faster and better applications than iPhone.

With Apple also developing a new advertise hosting programme which allows the users to stay with the application while clicking an advertisement, it can look to wrest a considerable market share from Google when it comes to hosting ads.

All said and done, no doubt the launch of iPhone 4 will increase Apple’s market share in the area of smartphones. But what might be a possible spoiler is the caps being put my companies like AT&T on the data consumption by users.
