The 24 year sultry siren, has just spent over 4 years in Bollywood but her looks and acting skills have won her several admirers who have now helped her beat all the other Bollywood beauties to grab the title of ‘World’s Sexiest Women’- 2010.
Deepika was awarded this the title by the international men’s lifestyle magazine FHM, originally known as For Him Magazine. Deepika beat Katrina Kaif to capture this title. Katrina had won this title for the past two years, whilst Deepika was at no. 6 last year.
With her trade mark Bindi on her forehead, Deepika has won the hearts of many, especially with her sense of style. For this former model winning awards is not something new. She has earlier won accolades as Model of the Year, Fresh Face of the Year and the award for the Female Best Debut of the year for her first Hindi movie Om Shanti Om.
Daughter of Prakash Padukone a former international badminton player, Deepika herself was a state level player in the game, but she quit sports to pursue a career in modelling and then followed it up with movies. She stepped into filmdom with a role in a Kannada film and entered Bollywood in 2007 with block buster Om Shanti Om, opposite the superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Since then she has starred in several commercially successful Hindi films like Bachna Ae Haseeno and Love Aaj Kal.
Someone has rightly said, “Deepika has all it takes to be a top star — the personality, the looks and yes, she’s talented too”. The actress who till last year was dating Ranbir Kappor is currently single, but with an accolade of ‘World’s Sexiest Women’, we are sure she won’t be single long.
