It was just another day in a Texas Fort Hood army base. Soldiers were marching and drill where being carried out. All of a sudden and out of the blues, gunshots were heard and 12 soldiers died in a jiffy while 31 others were injured.
Military spokesmen. Lt. General Bob Cone said in Texas that the shooter was an Army soldier who opened fire in a “readiness facility.” It’s been assured that the shooters were killed. On the other hand, Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison of Texas told Fox 4 News that one shooter was in custody and “another is still at large.”
“It was a processing center where soldiers are processed to go to Iraq or Afghanistan. “Our hearts go out,” she said. “These are soldiers who are getting ready to go out to Iraq or Afghanistan and their families were under stress already. This was just a terrible tragedy and we don’t even know the extent of it yet.”
The base is one of the largest installations in the country and it accommodates about 218,000 people.
President Barrack Obama was bewildered to hear the news and said that the event was “horrifying.”
