Tropical storm Alex may take form of a Major Hurricane; Gulf Oil Spill is safe for now

Tropical Storm Alex that’s approaching the coast of Mexico for now is not expected to hit the Gulf Oil area. The Incident if actually happens may paralyze the Gulf oil spill cleanup operations.
The storm has now taken a form of a more defined storm and turn into a Category 3 storm, which may have winds gushing with speed of up to 200km/hr. The storm was earlier threatened to hit the Gulf-oil Spill area, where clean-up processes are currently underway. Any winds with speed of more than 75km/hr. will disrupt the current operations and may force BP to close all the efforts. The move may also delay the efforts of digging two relief wells, which is the only hope of clubbing the oil leak for now. Coast guard Adm. Thad Allen has said that the storm for now has weakened into a tropical depression. He has also further added that the officials are closely monitoring the progress of the Storm. “We all know the weather is unpredictable and we could have a sudden, last-minute change” he commented.

The Deepwater Horizon exploded on April 20; which resulted in the death of 11 workers and spewing of up to 2.5 million Gallons of Crude into the sea. Currently close to 39,000 people and more than 6,000 boats are operating in the affected areas cleaning up the spill and trying to protect hundreds of miles of coastline and dirty beaches.
