Finally you can delete Facebook accounts

Guys! Get ready to officially delete your Facebook account! Now you can deactivate and Delete your accounts under the Accounts setting tab as well. Now there is more freedom on your part and efficiency on part of Facebook!

Facebook will provide a link, where if users click, will permanently delete their accounts. Under the previous system, user accounts would be deleted after a fortnight. Facebook will start this as a test for select users, but soon will be made available to all 500 million Facebook users.

“We are constantly testing new ideas,” said a Facebook spokesman. “One of these recent tests included variations of the delete-account option for a very small percentage of users.”

People had come down heavily on Facebook for changes to privacy settings on its website. However, now with deleting option open, one can expect Facebook to be more and more user friendly. With its sudden rise with respect to other social networking sites, Facebook can only expect to be more popular!

Apple offers free iPhone 4 case to tide over the Antenna Issue

After initially hinting the antenna issue as a software error and that a software update would address the problem, Apple now seems to back track on its earlier announcements. In a rather contradicting move Apple has started offering free iPhone 4 cases, which is expected to address its very much hyped antenna issue.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs had earlier announced that his company would give away the free bumper cases, without further elaborating how the company would actually be distributing them. Apple on 23rd July launched the "iPhone 4 case program" application, which would allow the existing iPhone users to place a free order for a bumper case from a variety of options. The bumper case technically would act as an insulating material covering the sides of the phone, preventing human contact with the phone and thereby averting the chances of disrupting antenna signal.

The free program would end on Sept. 30 and all the customers who have already purchased the bumpers at a cost can request for refund and the amount would be remitted back to them. Apple has also allowed for third-party bumpers like those from the Griffin Motif iPhone cover, the Belkin shield micra, etc in addition to the Apple branded equipment. To order their free cases the iPhone users will be required to sign into the application with their Adobe IDs and choose their bumper case from a range of over half a dozen options. The company has added that once the order is placed, the product will be delivered within 3-5 weeks.

For £23, an Indian iPad

There can’t be any better example in cost cutting than this. For £23, you can barely buy a day’s meal in England. In India, for the same amount you can buy India’s version of iPad. It looks same, performs almost all the functions which its American counterpart can do and which most importantly, can run on solar power. Now the obvious question is, where did all this cost go?

The design of the device is such that it uses minimum hardware to support its applications. And with an ever continuing decline in the costs of hardware, the cut in costs become even steeper. Besides that, the device uses a memory card instead of a hard disk used in normal computing devices. Coming at a time when India is rising as a global economic giant, this project is a part of the mission to provide broadband connectivity and digitise the entire study material for all Indian colleges and universities.

Meanwhile, you have an opportunity to grab an experience of iPad with less damage to your pockets.
