Guys! Get ready to officially delete your Facebook account! The “Deactivate Account” button, which was difficult to access as it often lies buried under Frequently Asked Questions section in the Help Centre, will now be easily accessible. Now you can deactivate and Delete your accounts under the Accounts setting tab as well. Now there is more freedom on your part and efficiency on part of Facebook!
Facebook will provide a link, where if users click, will permanently delete their accounts. Under the previous system, user accounts would be deleted after a fortnight. This prevents the decision of deleting the account to be a long process. But it does not allow the flexibility of reconsidering deleting decisions!
Facebook will start this as a test for select users, but soon will be made available to all 500 million Facebook users.
“We are constantly testing new ideas,” said a Facebook spokesman. “One of these recent tests included variations of the delete-account option for a very small percentage of users.”
People had come down heavily on Facebook for changes to privacy settings on its website. However, now with deleting option open, one can expect Facebook to be more and more user friendly. With its sudden rise with respect to other social networking sites, Facebook can only expect to be more popular!
