LeAnn Rimes is not very proud of herself after she cheated her way out of her eight-year marriage with Dean Sheremet. The 28-year-old country singer tells that she understands people’s disappointment in her and she does not feel good about the way she acted either but that their marriage wasn’t working anymore and she grew desperate.
"I understand why people are disappointed in me, especially since I grew up as America’s sweetheart," Rimes tells the October issue of Shape, on stands Sept. 20. "I think any relationship is hard to get out of, and I don’t think the way I did it was right."
Her marriage with Sheremet ended after it became known that she was making out with actor Eddie Cibrian. She earlier told People that although their marriage wasn’t going anywhere, she was ashamed the way she put an end to it.
"I did one of the most selfish things that I possibly could do, in hurting someone else," she told back in June. She now tells Shape that marrying young may be one reason behind the failure of the marriage.
"It wasn’t a fulfilling marriage for either of us," she said. "As we got older, we grew apart."
